  1. Excellent religious/apocalyptic tale. Intelligent well written and although aimed at teens it didn't feel young at all. I really felt for the character of Rebekah and had very mixed emotional feelings at the end but you'll have read it to understand why. This is a religious novel but you do not need to be so to enjoy the book. If you are not religious you may want to skip what the author has to say at the end of her novel.I really enjoyed this book and given it one of my rare 5 star ratings. I j [...]

  2. I was a little tentative when I first saw this book about a year ago. How long have we been hearing about the second coming and the end of the world? I know I have for over forty years. Everyone is exhaustively looking for the signs, I guess in the hope of being credited with being the first one to get it right. This book does nothing of the sort. It is a great look into the final days through the eyes of a teenager who is convinced that the people (including the Catholic Church) who have hailed [...]

  3. This should be called a non fiction book,it is that goodANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS. GOD BLESS YOUBECCAThis book will show you that standing up for JESUS CHRIST is w worth it ALL.We need more books written like this one.

  4. I really wanted to give this book a higher review because I love this subject. But I was left so confused by many portions of this book. It had me looking up different passages in the Bible to figure out what happens when in Revelation. This is a good thing, endeavoring to find the truth in the Bible. However, when I am reading a novel, I want to be entertained. First, why is the rapture completely disregarded? I could be wrong but I do not recall any mention to it. This is a very important part [...]

  5. I read this novel a couple of years ago. It was one possible out come for the end times. It was very suspenseful with an ending I didn't expect.

  6. I have been a student of prophecy for 38 years. My opinion and the authors vary greatly. It was a good story line. I like the authors style of writing as well. If you want a different view of your beliefs on end times, and how to do defend what you believe you must read all points of view open mindedly. This was a well written different point of view. Although I disagree with the story line, it does make one research the scriptures to make sure you know what you believe and why. I recommend this [...]

Sixteen-year-old Rebekah Silver is your average teenager living in Southern California. She worries only about learning her cheerleading routines and passing her math test. But as world dictators rise to power and devastating disasters claim millions of lives she is inspired to search for answers. Becky soon discovers her world is quickly coming to an end, ju [...]

  8. Although Scars appears to be aimed towards teens, I really enjoyed this book. It is one girl's story of what could happen. It was very easy to read and I recommend it, especially to teenage girls (simply because they may relate to the main character, Becky). I just can't imagine living in a world like that. Are we headed in that direction? I found myself wondering, along with Becky, why can't everyone see what's going on? Why were they blind to prophecies being fulfilled, especially the church? [...]

  10. This is a Christian End Times novel. The reader finds the main character, Becky, running. The story unfolds in flashbacks through the eyes of Becky. I like that the reader finds out what is going on in the 'author's world' through Becky's eyes. It is a world that is different in some ways from our current one. The possibility does exist that our world may turn into this if the warning placed within the novel is not heeded. If you are a Christian and wonder what End Times may look like, this is t [...]

  11. When I bought this book, I thought I'd be reading the same tired story line about the End Times. I was wrong! Scars is a very powerful story about the prophecies of Revelation as seen through the eyes of a teen-aged girl. Patience Prence does a marvelous job of switching the scenes back and forth between what is the present state of mind and condition of Rebekah and the events which led to that situation. Both the characters and the plot are very well developed. Unlike other End Times novels, Sc [...]

  12. This I will give 3.5 stars. I love the subject. I am a fan of end-times books and this one was good, but could have been fleshed out a bit more. It seems to happen after the Rapture, but there are young children in it which makes me believe it might be pre-Rapture or someone who believes that the Rapture will come in the middle of the Tribulation. I liked the way Rebekka discovered the Bible and on her own was able to see the truths in it. She was a brave girl and was able to stand for what she [...]

  13. This book did not capture my interest. With all of the 5 starsI imagined the diversity and creative writing of Jerry B Jenkins and Tim La Haye.Their novels are simple to read, but they are very creative. I found this novel with the "blond cheerleader" like so many other novels did not stand out! Wait to get it at half priced or better yet borrow it from someone who already has itif you have nothing else better to do one night!

  14. I read this book at the end of 2013 and was very happy with it. I did not realize that it was YA book, but that did not deter from my enjoyment of it. It was a good end-of-times story. After reading this book, you cannot help but wonder how you might behave under similar circumstances. A great read with good thought provoking content.

  15. I truly enjoy Christian fiction books, and this one was also an end-time story. I thought it was well-written, and it held my interest; however, I do wish it would have been a bit longer, because I could have read a lot more of this story. I got this one for my Nook, but I may end up buying a 'real' book copy - so I can share it with friends.

  16. Good This book didn't have the rapture coming prior to the tribulation. The main character is a teenage girl who worships Jesus, amidst the world who has turned to the antichrist for salvation. I enjoyed this book.

  17. Very emotional read. Great end times novel and Patience Prence does a great job in drawing you into the story and holding your attention until the dramatic end.

  18. Amazing!!!!I loved this book and finished it in one day! It's so close to what we will experience soon here on earth as Christians.
