    1. I am fast becoming a fan of Gordon Korman. I’ve enjoyed SCHOOLED and BORN TO ROCK and I’m looking forward to his installment in the 39 CLUES series. When I saw THE JUVIE THREE on the shelf I knew I had to give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed. As I read the book I almost had the feeling that I was reading a young adult version of the 1989 movie The Dream Team starring Michael Keaton. Douglas Healy, a former juvenile delinquent, gets approval from the state of New York to start a unique halfw [...]

    2. This fictional book called "The Juvie Three" sets places in New York, around the late 20th - 21st (mid 1990s-2005) Century. It was published on September 4, 2008. The author Gordon Korman explains the life of three boys. Gecko who’s brother taught him to be a getaway driver. But one day Gecko crashed the car ended making him and his brother get detained. Leading up to Gecko being sent to juvie. Terance was in a gang he no longer wished to be in, upset by him trying to leave the gang they turne [...]

    3. This is a pleasant and entertaining reading. I love the different POVs from the diverse and unique cast of characters the author created. My only complaint is that I would've loved seeing more development of the three main characters. Their story definitely deserved more than 256 pages. Nevertheless, The Juvie Three is a story about courage, hope, and how second chances are possible. Definitely worth reading!

    4. Gecko, Arjay, and Terence, all in trouble with the law, must find a way to keep their halfway house open in order to stay out of juvenile detention. - from library catalogThis is a Gateway nominee for 2010-2011. Should be a high interest book as most of Gordon Korman's books are popular. I did enjoy the story (although it is a little farfetched!). ;)Starred review from Booklist:What are the odds a teenage gangbanger, a 15-year-old murderer, and a 14-year-old who crashed a stolen car can keep it [...]

    5. If you thought Sam Hill made some bad choices in Goblins!, then meet Gecko and Terence in Gordan Korman's new book, The Juvie Three. Gecko (who "has elevated not thinking to the level of high art") drove a getaway car for his brother, who robbed an appliance store. Terence runs with a Chicago gang and can't think of much besides his next heist. They are joined by Arjay, a very large boy whose strength led to an accident in which a boy was killed, in an experimental half way house run by Doug Hea [...]

    6. Read for school Battle of the Books competition. Not like ANY book I read as a teenager since I was pretty naive to the juvenile justice system and anyone living a lifestyle that may get them involved in the juvenile justice system. Now I'm an 8th grade teacher and I could picture these characters so well because they are close in age to my own students and I've been exposed to lifestyles other than my own "Leave It to Beaver" upbringing. I recommend this book for boys in middle and high school [...]

    7. Douglas Healy, a former juvenile delinquent himself, decides to make his own small contribution to society by getting a grant to create a half-way house for three troubled teens: Terence, a self proclaimed gangster, Gecko, in jail at 14 for stealing and crashing a car during a robbery and Arjay, the gentle giant who is in prison for accidental manslaughter.Healy has his hands full trying to keep all three boys on track and out of future trouble as he also tries to convince a social worker he onc [...]

    8. In my opinion The Juvie Three was an excellent book. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars is because it wasn't "perfect". Around the middle of the book is where I think the best part of the book was because that's right about where everything goes wrong. I specifically enjoyed the effort that Gordon Korman put into building up the characters' back stories and personalities. All three of the main characters (Gecko, Arjay, and Terence) were somewhat framed or poorly judged. Throughout the b [...]

    9. ****The Juvie ThreeGordon Korman This book is a book that you don’t know what will happen from time to time. A second chance for everyone, that is what this book is when Gecko, Arjay, and Terence get a second chance. It all seems to start to go away when something happens to the group leader that could put them back in juvie and there trying everything to stay out of juvie in the first place. This book is a good lession to help teach kids not to do bad things because it will show kids what wil [...]

    10. Another winning title from Gordon Korman that will appeal to readers of Son of the Mob and No More Dead Dogs.

    11. I loved it. Korman nailed the dialog between the characters in the book and made it real. Korman masterly balanced serious issues and consequences while still making the book laugh out loud funny in parts.

    12. This book was excellent if I had the time to read it again. It was great book learning how the three boys were different. I was actually imaging i was there like in movie there was a part of the book where there was action and you just felt like what going to happen next. Then i like how each Boy had his own problem which they were split and made the book fun to read you learned about how they go throughout their day. They meet people who influenced on what they want to do with their life if the [...]

    13. The Juvie Three, by Gordon Korman, is a story about Gecko, Arjay, and Terrence, three teenagers who had been sent to juvie, or for Arjay's case prison. Gecko drove the car of fleeing felons, Terrence got into trouble with a gang in Chicago, and Arjay killed someone. Yet after everything they did, Mr. Healy, an owner of a halfway house, is going to give them a second chance.I liked how the author made the main characters seem like people not worth to root for, to misunderstood protagonists that j [...]

    14. This book was recommended to me by my librarian since I am into crime and fiction. I soon started getting the characters and which ones are bad, good, respectful, always mad. There were a lot of different characters. Three kids rob a store and get caught. They go to juvie and are offered a second chance. The book is full of adventure and you will never know what is coming next, that's something I liked about the book. I would recommend this to kids around my grade but I don't think adults would [...]

    15. In my opinion this is one of the best books I have read in awhile. This book really sparked my love for reading again because I feel that coming back to one of these books really inspires me to keep reading. The characters are very relatable and they really seem like they are real people trying to deal with a life out of prison and how having a second chance inspires them to become better people. It really teaches a lot about how far giving people a second chance goes and how criminals are peopl [...]

    16. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!! I absolutely loved the story, at first I had my doubts but it turned out to be the best book I read all year. I strongly advise everybody this book to everyone because that is how amazing it is.

    17. Gecko Fosse drove the getaway car. Terence Florian ran with the worst gang in Chicago. Arjay Moran killed someone accidentally from punching them. they all ended up serving jail time until they get a second chance at life.

    18. As a Gordon Korman the back cover almost never does the inside justice. The bizarre-ness of his books are never predictable. Even thinking back you can't believe how you get from point one to point two. The characters are life like and I really wish he made a book two of these three. The one thing about his books is unpredictability which heightens the adventures this book holds. The characters are great and the book was entertaining. What else is there to say. It's Gordon Korman

    19. This is a redemptive story of three troubled teens who get a second chance at life. It is heart-warming and humorous, and, though I did have to suspend belief somewhat at the situation the teens find themselves in, this is not overly distracting to the plot. Realistic? Not so much, but nevertheless, I found myself really rooting for Arjay, Terence, and Gecko. My Booktalk:Douglas Healy knows that not everyone gets second chances. Back when he was a teenager, he was always in and out of trouble un [...]

    20. I thought that this book was great. It had the perfect amount of romance to mix up the already crazy lives of the three. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes action adventure or mystery.

    21. Thrill, Suspence, fun, fear, excitement, and many more can be found in Gordon Kormans "The Juvie Three". Gordon Korman is famous for many books that you may be familiar with such as: Schooled, Born to Rock, Son of the Mob, Son of the Mob: Hollywood Hustle, and many more. If you have read any of his books you would know that he is a very good writter. He puts a lot of thought into what goes into his books. When you read "The Juvie Three" you relize that. At the begining of the book it just draws [...]

    22. The three juvies in the title are pulled together for a unique group home program pulled organized by Douglas Healy. In his own past, Healy had his own brushes with the law, and he is hoping to give some unfortunate teens who have made bad choices a chance to get their lives back on track. After a search for funding, a long fight with the juvenile justice system, and trolling through files, he has selected three young men who will just be perfect:*Gecko, a Rhode Islander whose given name is Grah [...]

    23. What would u think of life when it gives you another chance to fix your mistakes? Well i know that three boys got that opportunity. The reason why is because of Douglas Healy. He was once in juvenile himself and trying to give these three boys named Terence, Arjay, and Grecko, a second chance to fix their mistakes and make their lives better, but need to do community service to not send them back to jail. If they make one little mistake they go back to prison. But you may ask yourself why this k [...]

    24. Have you ever in your life gotten a second chance? Well, I know three boys that did get one. Gecko,Terence, and Arjay were given a second chance for their freedom by Douglas Healy to prove that they are not bad kids. Now your probably thinking why?Douglas Healy picked these boys because they remind him of himself. If you are someone that enjoys Realistic Fiction I would recommend this book to you. It has all the realistic features that could happen in the real world but then again it has the funn [...]

    25. The Juvie Three Book By: Gordon Korman Review By: Mariah D. HardingIt all begins with a flashback of Gecko Fosse behind the wheel of a car, driving around the block waiting for his brother to get out of the video game store. Then he stops right in front of the stores. Waiting in the dark, his brother and his friends bust out of the store, arms filled with games. Then the alarms go off. They hurry to the car. Gecko looks in the mirror seeing the owner of the car and an officer racing [...]

    26. Gecko, Arjay, and Terence are very bad people because they killed people stole and use to be a getaway driver. They get captured and sent away but they got a second chance to redeem themselves but if they mess up they go back to the jail. Terence is planning to run away and Gecko and Arjay know that if he runs away they will go back to jail. I recommend this book to everyone who likes reading about crimes.

    27. THE JUVIE THREE is a book about three convicted teenagers and their desire for freedom. Gecko Fosse drove the getaway car for another of his brother Ruben when he robbed a videogame store.
