    1. Many excellent drawings. They average about one a page. Three stand out in my memory: (1) a big red-tailed hawk soaring over the intersection of interstates 95 and 80 (this image alone shows how much man has altered the Meadowlands), (2) a song sparrow in full song while perched on a reed, while over his shoulder peeks a 747 on its descent into Newark International Airport (through the imaginative use of perspective the two fliers are the same size on the page), and (3) one based on an old photo [...]
