    1. ARC provided by the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.Killing "demons", magic that is only given to women, and bi boys? Yeah, I'm here for it.

    3. “Trust your heart Even if it kills you.” A BOOK WHERE WOMEN ARE THE ONLY CHARACTERS THAT HAVE MAGIC? 😍🙌.✨ I’ve been bless !!!!!! ✨ I really hope to like this book.

    4. I've already read a manuscript of BLACK ROSE, and it's a great adventure, full of beautiful insights and heartbreaking revelations. I can't wait to see the final draft and the other books in the series.

    5. Anyone else having a hard time rating and reviewing this book? Because I amI have to think about this review for a few days

    8. I see many people who review a book before it comes out. I just want to be first for once. The summary sounds amazing. I'll read it next year.

    9. Heart of Thorns is a daring, fun and hilarious new fantasy novel that I finished in less than a day. The plots follows the flight of ex-huntress Mia Rose and her reluctant, new husband Prince Quin following their interrupted nuptials. Mia's world has been turned upside down because she learns that she has magical powers - same as the demons she has hated and hunted all her life. The relationship between the two newlyweds is strained; but the banter was full of great sarcastic quips and the world [...]

    10. (I received a free review copy in exchange for an honest review from Edelweiss.)

    11. arc provided by Edelweiss.DNF about 50 percent of the way thru.Sigh.This is the second book I couldn’t finish where the author just jumped right into the action and hoped you could catch up. I don’t think it’s a bad idea but so far it’s been executed poorly. Writers, don’t do it. Develop and tell. There are the bones to a high quality story here. It’s apparent the author wanted to really talk about woman’s rights here; with a lot of talk of controlling women’s bodies and mistrust [...]

    12. I just got accepted for this ARC and uuuh only now am I seeing that people are describing this as Graceling meets Pride & Prejudice ??? holy shit????? this is THE BEST!!

    13. Prepare to be enthralled by an utterly charming romantic arc, a thoughtful exploration of attraction, consent, and love, and a sparkling prose style that practically dances off the page. My heart needed this feminist fairy tale and I bet yours does too.

    14. Mia Rose has always dreamed of being part of the Hunters. A group that kill women known in the ancient river kingdom as Gwyrach- demons. After her mother was murdered, Mia swore to kill the demon that ended her life. But when Mia's father suddenly announces she will marry the prince she is forced to step down, to play the fair maiden with the silken gloves that could never do harm to anyone. When the wedding goes horribly wrong, Mia discovers she has dark magic. Magic she had sworn to destroy. Can [...]

    15. This is one of those times where I wish I could ask what moment if any compelled an author to craft a book like this because there were so many details that we’ve seen play out before in both fiction and reality with a few nods to current events to really convey the message that violence against women is nothing new and is unfortunately far from slowing down. This entire story is like my dream because we go into it with a narrative crafted by a specific group of people who are in charge and wa [...]

    16. Gonna give this book 3.5 stars and that is because I had a really big issue with a certain scene in the book. Overall I would have to say that Heart of Thorns was an enjoyable read. I look forward to the sequel. The characters were well thought out, the romance was believable and I loved how the author interspersed anatomical and scientific terms and both magic into the book. It was educational and especially helpful for me since I am currently taking an Anatomy course!I am going to include a ma [...]

    17. ****4.5 Stars**** (just because of that endings I am being passive agressiver the moment at least )This book came out of nowhere and sucker punched me in the gut! I had no idea what it was about, I just picked the book up because I liked the title and the cover artrry I hate to admit that; but about 25 pages into this book I was hooked.ke telling my husband not to bother me while reading hooked! Bree Barton has written a lushly, magical world that has me jonesing to jump back into it I have to w [...]

    18. Set in an ancient river Kingdom, Mia Rose seeks to avenge her mother by killing Gwyrach. These are women who can manipulate flesh, bones, breath, and blood and have been branded as exceptionally dangerous. Aside from her father, the only person who Mia truly cares for is her younger, carefree sister, Angie. But when her father arranges an unexpected marriage between Mia and Prince Quin that turns into a violent disaster, Mia discovers the magic she's sworn to destroy is the very one she possesse [...]

    19. Heart of Thorns is a serious page-turner. Twist after twist, with the perfect amounts of action, humor, romance and heart. Fans of Graceling DEFINITELY need to read this. Barton has crafted a fun and intelligent feminist fantasy, bringing forth issues of consent and power and the consequences of patriarchy.

    20. This book grabbed me from the first page and kept surprising me all the way through. Bree Barton's writing is clever and sharp-edged, beautiful and tender, all at once. (Plus, the witty banter is DIVINE.) The ending was one of the best endings I've ever read. EVER. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE meets GRACELING meets HANDMAID'S TALE? You need this book. <33333
