    1. Intentions were good and the first third of this story, the one dealing with the naked pain of the MC, is good. Things get more clumsy when the author begins to describe his coming to terms with his loss and go downhill when he meats a new potential love interest. Writing turns kind of didactic and all emotion is gone.

This novella was oddly pedestrian.It has a great idea behind it, but it never quite takes off.Fin has lost his boyfriend, an actor, in a car accident and is devastated by the loss of his first and only love. He is unable to move on, is frozen in grief. He auditions for a part in "Cats" and meets Karl.After a bad start, there is an attraction between them, but can it go anywhere?Fin and Karl were a bit lacking in personality; I got no sense of what they were like at all. They were as low key-flat [...]
