    1. Loved! Loved! Loved! 6 starsOmg, Barbara Devlin has outdone herself, with The Marooner, her third novel of the Pirates of the Coast series! The first page grabbed my attention and something wonderful happened! I could not put it down! Truly, I had so much fun following Leland and Sophia's high sea adventure that soon it became a real page turner. It can be enjoyed from the first page until the very last one, only to find out that I wanted more! There was never a dull moment from the very beginni [...]

    2. Captain Leland Stryker has decided to take a bride as part of his new life. On the high seas he is better known as the Marooner a pirate who abandoned his victims rather than kill them. He knows the days of pirating are over and it's time to go straight. Lady Sophia Grace Radcliff knows she must marry for money. Her father has lost the family wealth, and her younger siblings need her to save them from the same fate. Our heroine will need all her courage to face the new life she will discover. Li [...]

    3. The Marooner by Barbara Devlin is #3 in her captivating series, "Pirates of the Coast", but can be read as stand alone. With pirates, mystery, romance, swashbuckling adventure, passion and love, what's not to enjoy. A quick read, but Ms. Devlin manages to pull together a story that is breathtaking, captivating and holds one's attention throughout. The cast of characters are engaging and compelling. The plot flows effortlessly, is intriguing, powerful and romantic. You gotta love romance on the h [...]

    4. The latest installment of the Pirates of the Coast brings us The Marooner's story and is one-click worthy. From the lush details of the ship you are transported into this story and swept away by the intimacy of the characters. You are truly enveloped into the Pirates of the Coast and that happens when a master storyteller is at the helm.Leland has faced insurmountable challenges and will have to face his biggest one yet when he meets Lady Sophia, is she his true soul mate? 5. Another pirate reinvented and redeemed The third in the series, this short read stands alone just fine. It falls into the spicy category. I have enjoyed all the Barbara Devlin books I have read and will continue to read them as they come out. Leland was sold into service at age 6 and has more than a few issues. But he has made something of himself. Sophia's father has gambled and poorly invested their funds. Her bride price will make the family solvent. "Like the evening tide, which crept ever c [...]

    6. Pirate and a LadyFormer pirate with many secrets goes into London society as a gentleman to find a wife; not because he wants to find a love match but to satisfy his carnal needs. At a ball he sees a young brunette that takes his breath away. He offers for her that same day and her father agrees to the marriage. What this pirate learns at her hand and what she learns of his secrets makes this a must take journey! I love Barbara Devlin and she never disappoints.

    7. The MaroonerAnother book I simply do not like. The best of her work is The Brethren of The Coast series. I am done with this series. These books repeat themselves and you automatically know what comes next as they repeat from the previous books. Ms. Devin needs to make sure that each book is unique unto itself. I will always read a sample before I purchase another of her books.

    8. Very little to recommend it besides not overly enticing sex scenes. Continuous sex scenes with very little character development added around the repetitive not very sexy sex scenes. I had already downloaded another book in the series which I have now deleted without reading. There are many books to read that are not a total waste of time as was this book.

    9. Short and cuteI actually enjoy reading Devlin's books as a break from the more serious historical fictions. This one is particularly cute in the way the relationship blooms between the captain and his bride. Nothing very heavy here.just a but of light fun.
