    2. I must say that I really enjoyed this book a lot. I think it's one of my favorites. The characters seemed very down-to-earth and real. The faith was strong without being over-zealous. I am not good with words myself so it's hard for me to explain, but I enjoyed the romance because they each knew there was an attraction to the other but had no reason to believe the other was interested. I hate it when it's obvious that someone is admired by another but the character doesn't see it. I would defini [...]

    3. This was another wonderfully written story by Ruth Morren. Her writting hasn't disappointed me yet. When I read "Love Inspired" books I usually expect a simple peaches and cream kind of story. This story was far more than that and was probably the best LIH I've ever read. I can only imagine the research she had to do regarding the archiological information in the story. It was very interesting. I loved the hero's strong personality and the way he was always the heroine's champion. I look forward [...]

    4. This was such a different story then what I've been reading recently. I am not as familiar with the time period, but it was a wonderful love story. I admit that Maddie seemed a little too passive at times, and Reid a little too devoted to his dead wife. It was nice to finally read a mature love story, with a woman who had such strong faith and conviction. I enjoyed it very much. I discovered that I have another of her books in my posession, Dawn in My Heart, and I look forward to reading it!

    5. Not bad. I didn't realize it would have the Christian theme until I was a few pages in. Made for a nice and very clean romance read. The christian message got a bit over-bearing at times. I've read a few of Catherine Marshall's books and they didn't announce duty to the Lord this strongly. That said, compared to other thematic-message books I've read, this was well-written, entertaining, and worth the day spent reading it.

    6. Maddie is a lady's companion to Lady Haversham in 1890 and meets her nephew, Reid, a man 10 years her senior, a widow and an archaeologist. First she helps Reid with going through his uncle's artifacts and then travels with the family to Scotland. When she falls down while climbing a mountain her heart seems to be falling also. Can this quiet daughter of the ministry be accepted in the higher society and/or Reid be able to move on from his grief?275 pages

    7. Loved this book. Good, clean romance. Maddie is such a humble, sweet lady. She inspires me to be more unselfish and forgiving. I think I have found a new author, I like her style. The book was clean and had spiritual messages throughout its story.

    8. Hearts in the Highlands is a fantastic book! I loved it! It was so touching, so inspiring and so heartwarming! I fell in love with Maddie and Reid and I wish I could give it more than 5 Stars because this romance is really outstanding!Ruth Axtell Morren is an excellent writer!
