    1. Heather Graham is one of my go-to authors when I need to read a good romantic suspense. I always liked the way that she is able to take us into the world she is creating in her stories. Tall, Dark and Deadly is definitely a page turner. All the ingredients of a good suspense are present: A lot of twists and turns, some shady characters and keeping me guessing about the killer up until the very end of the book. This book was written back in 1999 and it is funny to see how things changed in the las [...]

    2. Marnie Newport has disappeared. Since she's a wild thing, most of her 'friends' believe her to be having a sexy weekend away with her latest lover. Only Samantha, her best friend who knows how happy and proud Marnie was about her brand new house, seems to believe that Marnie would never leave her new home so soon, not even for a day. Everyone's sceptical at first, but when days go by and still Marnie hasn't appeared, others are getting worried too. Could this have something to do with a secretar [...]

    3. Marnie disappears and Sam (Samantha) is the first to realize it. None of her friends will believe her that something's up. Marnie is a bit unpredictable but something is off and Sam is worried. Then Rowan Dillon shows up Sam's former lover. The monkey wrench he throws into her life is huge and not to be ignored. Finally the police and Marnie's friends believe she's not off on a hot weekend with some new guy she's in mortal danger. This was a good story but the writing drove me a little crazy at t [...]

    4. This is another great mystery suspense book from Heather Graham. Samantha Miller's next door neighbor and best friend has gone missing and she is the only person who believes that something horrible has happened to her. Marnie Newcastle was notorious about doing the unexpected but Sam knew she was right. Unfortunately just as she realized that Marnie had disappeared, she also discovered that the only man she had ever loved and who turned his back on her had just moved in the house on the other s [...]

    5. This is a story of deadly obsession, a cop gone off the deep end of obsession, a strip club and a young boy who is different, key to entire story. If you like mystery and intrigue rolled into one, with a little bit of the dark side, read this book.

    6. This was an enjoyable romantic suspense from Heather Graham. I liked the chemistry between the main characters, Samantha and Rowan, and thought there was a nice balance of romance and suspense. The storyline kept me guessing throughout most of the book, and I thought that Samantha's young friend, Gregory, added depth to the story.Samantha Miller is concerned when her friend, Marnie Newport, doesn't return home when expected. Marnie's lifestyle keeps the authorities from taking her absence seriou [...]

    7. A handful of solid red herrings make this a successful mystery; I knew who I wanted to be the guilty party, but I wasn't sure until the reveal, which is a good sign. Good, atmospheric locale, and (initially) a pretty creepy killer are both bonuses. However, a string of rather corny coincidences, and some truly hamfisted scenes (i.e. have the mc's cousin give a complete, awkward, blow-by-blow description of the mc *to the mc herself*, including height and weight, to get the exposition out of the [...]

    8. This was an good romantic suspense from Heather Graham - that I enjoyed back in 1999 when it was first published. I was dismayed to see that this was nothing more than a reprint. Still, it is a good book.Samantha Miller is concerned when her friend, Marnie Newport, doesn't return home when expected. Marnie's lifestyle keeps the authorities from taking her absence seriously. As Samantha becomes more and more worried, Rowan Dillon, her new neighbor and ex-lover agrees to help her find out what hap [...]

    9. Heather Graham does it to me yet again! I don't know how she does it!She creates characters so lifelike and believable that you can't help getting caught up in their lives. The action and suspense were great, the plot well done. She had so many characters, not too much or too little, and it was tough trying to figure out who the killer was. I thought I was so sure, but I was way off the mark and surprised beyond belief. However, I found the ending a little rushed. It happened a little too fast wit [...]

    10. Samantha's next door neighbor and close friend disappears without a trace. Sam contacts the police but they can not file a report until it has been 48 hours. Sam is able to get her cousin's ex husband to fill out the report and have it ready when it can be filed. As more time goes by more and more people believe something has happened to Marnie. To further complicate things Sam learns that her ex lover has bought the house on the other side of Marnie. There are a lot of characters in this book b [...]

    11. This book started slow and finally just before pg. 100 it hooked me. The Florida Keys I had visited recently and the tie ins in setting were interesting. The Everglades National Park and the Coconut Grove are the setting and the murder or disappearance of a well known lawyer and neighbor moving into the area is unsettling. The crime scene is almost pristine but the neighbors all believe something happened and want to find her. And the reader must decide who is the tall, dark and deadly character [...]

    12. This novel was well written and charming. I liked the mystery and romance aspects equally. The romance gained speed gradually and wasn't forced. The mystery started from the get go and there was no stale parts that dragged. I will say that the ending was a surprise and I couldn't get over the fact that some of the details to explain why the guilty party did it while the suspected party did not was a bit contrived. I couldn't believe one of the explanations of why a person did what they did and c [...]

    13. im actually surprised with myself! i figured out the killer before he/she was revealed! its rare for me to do so but that being said it was still closer to the end of the book before i figured it out. either way i really enjoyed this book. i loved the fact that she had an autistic boy as one of the characters. he really touched my heart. my one down side was there were so many typos! it was getting kind of annoying after so many.

    14. A well written romance. The characters are all tightly connected. The plot has a well-developed missing-person's mystery, keeping the reader turning the pages. Ending is rather disappointing, but maybe that is just the nature of romances - the girl gets the guy that she has hated most of the book.

    15. This was a great book. Never thought the person doing the killing was who it was. Samantha Miller's best friend goes missing and an old flame moves into the neighborhood. This is the story of Samantha's search for her friend and where that search takes her. It is also about the lost love that is found.

    16. This book is very well written. Very vivid. However, it was just a little too scary for my taste. But, if you love very scary stories about serial killers, I would definitely recommend Tall, Dark, and Deadly.

    17. I liked the plot and the mystery. Lots of suspects to mix things up and keep you on your toes. I just didn't like the languageere wasn't a lot but enough to turn me off from reading this author again.

    18. It took me a while to get into this book. I was tempted to quit but I was determined to finish it. About half way through it started to get good and I started to enjoy it.
