    1. I found this interesting, as it's the first book I've read so far, which has really moved away from the Abbey itself and connected to her various other characters and series. It really helped to have read The School of Ups and Down with the Abbey Club, as that made all the Rocklands School part make more sense. So far, I think Jen may be my favourite character and it was lovely to have a book about her and her adventures, that fits in around the end of the previous book.

    2. One of the seminal books in the once-popular series. This book is really more about traditional country dancing than about Jen. Jen's group of country dancers and Rhoda's group compete in a dance tournament. Teesa longs to compete, but is only an alternate, as is Head-girl Betty. But they are "bricks" (good sports) and eventually get their chance.
