    1. What to do with a house full of teenage girls, along with impressionable younger ones, especially in the 1850s Texas America? Do what Henry Buckmeyer, the patriarch of the Buckmeyers do in "Daughters of the Heart" by Caryl McAdoo. Ground them for life! No, I'm just kidding, but to Gwendolyn, Cecilia and Bonnie, that might as well be. Their father had imposed a strict no courting until your 18 rule, and then no marriage until he approves. Simple enough in our times, but back then, you're consider [...]

    2. A loving family, sisters trying to navigate adolescence and each other, more beaus than an ABC reality show ;), and a mild thread of suspense all combine to make up Daughters of the Heart – the fifth book in Caryl McAdoo’s popular Texas Romance series. Much like the Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke, the series follows one family – the Buckmeyers -from patriarch Henry’s marriage all the way until the current time frame where his daughters are ready to start courting. The family res [...]

    3. IF ONLY HE COULD HAVE KEPT THEM ALL BABIESI love this series and enjoy revisiting the family of Henry Buckmeyer. So much has happened over the years, but now two of his daughters are coming of age, and when beaus start coming around, things get interesting. Gwendolyn is of age, but Cecelia is not, yet that doesn't stop her from falling in love and hoping Daddy will reconsider his strict ways and rules. It is never easy for a father to let go of his babies, no matter how old they are. So many emo [...]

    4. Jumping The plot was great. It was thought out well. I had difficulty with all the character jumps and the multitude of viewpoints from all the characters. It did get better towards the end, however, I feel I missed a lot in the (sometimes) drastic transition from character to character.

    5. I read this book without having read any of the previous books. It has several things that I didn't understandbut thought that it had character and wanted to see how it turned out. I enjoyed the book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

    6. Good but not great. Story took so many twists and turns that it was hard to stay involved. It ended well!Good but not great. Lots of twists and turns made the story hard to follow. All ended well so, yes, good read.

    7. More Texas romanceIf you've read the previous four books in this series, you definitely want to read this one. There are enough sisters and story lines to keep anyone busy. It all seems to work out in the end, but there is still an opening for Bull Glover to cause more trouble.

    8. Three daughters still at home, suitors come calling ; what's a father to do, especially when he has remarried after the death of his first wife? A wonderful read, This is part of a series, but can be a stand alone book.

    9. The Buckmeyer saga continues with Henry's young eligible daughters vying for their father's approval and the hands in marriage of the ones they love. In 1850s Texas it is not as easy as it seems. To add to the drama, Henry's past threatens to harm his family and stirs up memories of his youth.

    10. ExcellantI enjoyed this story very much. Ready to start at book number 1 now. I would recommend reading in order.

    11. The story shows the comforts and difficulties of keeping family order, and they place high value on trust.

    12. GreatA wonderful book. I forgot that I had read the other books leading up to this one. All are worth reading

    13. Daughters of theHeartInteresting story. Interesting characters. If this Was the way life was in the mid 1900's, I am happy not to have lived then. Would give it 4 stars

    14. Another greatI love this series because of the spiritual component, the humor and the depthnesss of love. The edge of mystery helps also.

    15. Love o the daughters! This was a great read and I have laughed and cried through out the book. Carly McAdoo is a great author. I enjoyed reading her books.

    16. BeautifulWonderful characters, real emotions, God and family values.I loved this wholesome story of family, romance, loss, revenge, happiness, pain.

    17. Great ReadThis began with silly girls falling in love. Then it got really exciting and interesting. It was sort of left open ended or it would have gotten a 5 star!

    18. "Daughters Of The Heart"by Carl McAddo had been on my wanting to read list long before it was released, even before I knew there was going to be a fifth book in the "Texas Romance Series". I know that sounds crazy and how can that be, well, you see I read the first book "Vow Unbroken" and thought I want to read more about this family and after reading "Daughters Of the Heart" I am still saying I want to read more! Each book in the series has been better than the last except "Daughters of the Hea [...]

    19. Daughters of the Heart is book 5 in the Texas Romance series by Caryl McAdoo and the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms. McAdoo. Daughters of the Heart is a book that once you start, you will not be able to put down until your finished. Henry Buckmeyer has three beautiful daughters at home, and he doesn’t like the idea of any man coming to take them away from him. If it was up to him, Henry would shoot every suitor that came to the door, but he is thankful for a loving wi [...]

    20. Daughter's Of The Heart by Caryl McAdoo is the fifth book in the Texas Romance series, and I was blessed to receive a copy. It was wonderful to catch up with the Buckmeyer family again, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel.Once again Caryl McAdoo has written a riveting novel set in Texas in the 1850's. The family very much revolves around Henry Buckmeyer as the head of the household. He is a God fearing man with high moral standards. His word is law, much to the disappointment of his daught [...]

    21. I loved this story by Caryl McAdoo. It is book 5 in the Texas Romance series. You don't have to read the books in order, but it helps to know the backgrounds of the characters. Cecilia, Gwendolyn, and Bonnie have vowed not to break their father's heart like their older sister did when she ran off and got married. Anybody that even thinks of dating his daughters, their father will shoot. But can Henry Buckmeyer go against his daughters' wishes when they find their one true loves and wish to marry [...]

    22. I thoroughly enjoyed Daughters of the Heart by Caryl McAdoo. She has a way of writing that feels authentic and reflects her love of the Lord. I loved the quirky sayings she included and the added humor made the book light-hearted and fun. There were several characters in Daughters of the Heart, but the storyline was easy to follow. The characters are well written and had depth. There was tension, love, heartache, and the conflict of honoring your parents while staying true to yourself. I loved fo [...]

    23. Daughters of The Heart ( Texas Romance - Book 5 )By: Caryl McAdooDaughters of The Heart is book five in Texas Romance Series. I really enjoyed reading this story and the characters. McAdoo has written a story that will tickle you and have you laughing throughout the story. I love reading about the Buckmeyer family . The three daughters , Gwendolyn , Cecelia, and Bonnie, all three are trying to change their daddy’s mind about courting and marriage age for them all. Their oldest sister ran away [...]

    24. Oh my word! Talk about a book that opens up with some laughs and then takes you for a jaunt and a skip through western town. Daughters of the Heart is such a fun read that I opened it for a quick peek and ended up reading half of it! The writing style was a little different but I have read one of Caryl's previous books so I knew her writing. Sometimes conversations can get confusing over who is talking, etc. But I really enjoy a book that teaches and instructs while making no qualms over having [...]

    25. I wanted so badly to like this book, but it just wasn't for me. After reading the description of this book, I thought I was going to love it. The plot didn't hold my attention. It was choppy and lacked in focus. There were some good points to the book. I loved how the family functioned as a whole. I loved Henry's love for his daughters and his wife and his protectiveness of all of them. The sibling rivalry was entertaining. Other than that, I didn't feel any real connection to any of the charact [...]

    26. Full adventure, mischief, and romance, author Caryl McAdoo has written an entertaining and enjoyable historical fiction, romance novel that readers will love. Getting to know the Buckmeyer sisters, Gwendolyn, Cecelia, and Bonnie, is quite the venture, as each sister has her own story. Although readers may not get especially attached to the characters and their relationships with one another, this story is still fun and will touch your heart. I would recommend this novel to readers that are ready [...]

    27. Daughters of the Heart follows the journey of the three youngest Buckmeyer daughters as they try to convince their dad to let them marry. This is a fun novel that is full of humor, romance, and the tight bonds of family. I loved reading the interactions between the sisters as the story progressed. The love Henry Buckmeyer has for his daughters is touching; it reminded me of my own relationship with my father and how much he looks out for me. The unfolding romances were cute and left me wanting t [...]

    28. Daughters Of The Heart was the first book I have read by Caryl McAdoo. I did not realize that it was book 5 until I was into the book. While I did enjoy the laughter and joy of an over-protective dad and his teenage daughters, the book would have made more sense had I read the first four. That being said, I liked the story well enough that I am going to go back and read the first four. The family is totally charming, and well armed :)I find myself wanting to know how they arrived at this point in [...]

    29. This is my first book to read by Author Caryl McAdoo. Daughters of the Heart did not disappoint me, it was a fantastic book to read. The author caught my interest at the beginning of the book. The novel was fun to read and I enjoyed the twists and turns that kept me intrigued through the whole book. Daughters of the Heart is Book Five in the Historical Christian Texas Romance and I believe I would read the first four books to cover the background, plus gives a fascinating history. I did not have [...]

    30. Caryl has done it again. I loved this book. This is the 5th book in the Texas Romance Series and although it can be read as a standalone, reading the prior books in the series does give the background and history of the characters. I thoroughly enjoy picking up with the characters from the prior stories and seeing what is happening in the Buckmeyer family. This book focuses on the daughters of Henry and I loved following their story and the conflict between daughters and Henry as they seek to ma [...]
