    1. I have to start this review with the disclaimer that I haven’t read a wide variety of stories that feature BDSM, but when I was offered the opportunity to read Closer and Closer there was just something about the synopsis that told me this book was worth a peek. I agreed to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I’ve been mulling over my thoughts on this book for a couple of weeks now.The story begins with Erin Proctor, a successful and single career woman who has just relocated [...]

    2. Sensual and sweet, safe and sane- the hallmarks of an excellent BDSM book. Thank the writing gods it's a series. We've got a Dom with a big heart, and a sub with a backbone, all set within the rolling countryside of North Carolina. Walt and Erin navigate the treacherous road to love while he guides her into exploring sensations and experiences she never thought she could have. Oh also- she's in IT, which is super cool, and her co-worker is the WORST. Well, the worst except one of the other DomsL [...]

    3. Jenna Barton's debut is nothing less than brilliant. Her writing is subtle but so savoury you will be reeling from it's tasteful impact long after you read the last page. One of the things I'm constantly looking for in a romance is a male lead with genius level emotional intelligence. It's like looking for a unicorn. Which is ironic considering I had an obsession with them as a little girl. Or is it Freudian? Irony, Freud doesn't matter anyway because I found my unicorn and his name is Walt East [...]

    4. Closer and Closer is a great read. It's about finding yourself and a balance between dominance and submission in a relationship. Erin is a twin and she's moved away from her sister and her mom! She never felt at home or comfortable around them, but in Callahan she thinks that she has found a place that fits her.Walt has been through some bad things in his life, he's a ranger in a park and he touchy when it comes to playing in the BDSM world. Erin has always seen people that interact and play in [...]

    5. Fantastic story of how to compromise in the lifestyle. It brings you right into the BDSM world. Walt and Erin have an amazing dynamic relationship. Can't wait to see what's next in this series.

    6. What a world she has made for us! Welcoming, nuanced, mysterious, enlightening, erotic, humorous. Her characters revel and reveal and demur and delight. So read up, there's plenty to enjoy!

    7. Psychocat Reads Review of CLOSER AND CLOSER by Jenna Barton(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)Until a few weeks ago, I'd never heard of CLOSER AND CLOSER, Jenna Barton, or the Enclave. Then I asked Traci for a recommendation for the review as part of our 4 day feature of Omnific Publishing, and she introduced them. Given the success rate of Omnific authors with Psychocat Reads, I didn't hesitate to accept the recommendation. So let's see what happened with I t [...]

    8. The story begins with Erin Proctor, a successful IT executive who has just relocated to North Carolina from California. She is very structured. Things have their place. She flusters easily when she doesn’t have the answers she thinks she needs or when she doesn’t know how to handle a situation. She meets Claire at her local dentist and becomes fascinated with her when she realizes she is wearing a collar under her work uniform. She’s always been interested in BDSM but never really pursued [...]

    9. In the interest of full disclosure, I won a copy of this book as part of a giveaway. Erin, the unassuming IT tech that is new in town, strikes up a friendship with her dental hygienist Claire, of all people. There are certain things about Claire’s wardrobe and demeanor that cause Erin to speculate that she might be part of the BDSM lifestyle, which Erin is very interested in learning about. When Claire takes her to their club one night, she is fascinated by what she sees around her, but she’ [...]

    10. Erin Proctor has always had a tight grip on control. Everything in her life has gone as planned – her education and her dedication to her career. So when she recognizes that her dental hygienist is wearing a “collar” with her pristine uniform - she cannot help but be fascinated.Claire introduces her to a small but intricately woven society where she can explore her deepest desires. And on her first night, she encounters a man who is equal parts strength and gentleness – raw sensuality an [...]

    11. I'm the first to admit, I'm pretty vanilla. So I started this book as if going into a haunted house, not sure what was going to happen next - a little nervous but excited as well.I'm thrilled to say the book was fabulous, I enjoyed all the aspects of it; from the beginning when Erin was trying bravely to put herself out there to find where she felt she belonged in the BDSM world to the end where she and Walt worked together to find their niche.I'm firmly convinced that everyone needs a [...]

    12. A refreshing and wonderful story about 2 people who find eachother at just the right time. Grownups, with grown up lives, feelings, baggage and hope. There is genuine warmth and caring, the dynamics of the central charcters, flaws and all, and what they want and how they get there, are a joy to read. Well developed back stories, for Erin and Walt, and the family that Walt has built. Yes, they get their HEA, but they have to work for it. An amazing read, and I am looking forward to next.

    13. I do not recommend this book to trauma survivors or anyone with psych disabilities. I do not recommend reading this book for queer rep. What I found was a story ended up not working for me. There were a lot of details and plot lines that felt very much like the pansexual kink communities I've been part of, and the novel offered criticism of some of the misogyny present in those communities, showed things like aftercare, negotiation, sub drop, warm up, concern for safety. The dom character is act [...]

    14. 4,5 stelline perchè ho adorato Walt Ma la lettura è stata difficilissima per me, e mi sembrava ci fossero anche degli errori Sicuramente le citazioni in italiano ne contenevano

    15. Some of the best BDSM fiction I've ever read. Jenna Barton's rich, luscious way with words blows my mind and also makes me insanely jealous of her mad skillz. Super smart story, likeable characters (I loved Erin and Walt, but LUCY totally rocked my world! SWOOOOON!), and an alpha male who wasn't an asshole male. <-- Thank GOOGLE for that.

    16. An ambitious, appealing, if flawed first book in what is meant to be an ongoing series about a group of friends who first came together years ago over their interest in BDSM. The romantic couple in book one consists of Erin, a high tech control freak who has never acted to explore her submissive proclivities, and Walt, a park ranger who has been burned by past lovers but is still hoping to find a lasting long-term romantic relationship. When Erin moves from CA to North Carolina, and suspects tha [...]

    17. What a great story. Two characters, Erin and Walt, defined by their pasts but moving forward. The depth of character that the author brings to this story is AMAZING. Sure the attraction is there from the start, but the love story unfolds at a beautiful pace. I don't pretend to live in a BDSM lifestyle but I've read about it. This story rings so true, on so many levels. And the other characters in the story are fantastic. Tate with his winning ways and easy going attitude. Lu scares me a little, [...]

    18. I could not put this book down. I was immediately sucked in to Erin and Walt's story. This book is just simply fantastic and I can't wait for more. I really want to know what happens with Claire/clover. Her situation with Paul just broke my heart for her.

    19. Absolutely gorgeous, hot read. Love the hero. The chemistry is cranking. Will be reading anything from Jenna Barton in the future. Further review to come

    20. This book has a lot of different views on the life style. It showed how ppl interpret things so differently. How some ppl take things to extreme, but thats how they want and enjoy them. The difference betweem overpowering dominance and submission is definetely exhibited in this book.Erin grows and becomes herself, distancing herself from her family to be who she knoes she is. Walt is the perfect teacher for Erin. They teach each other how to be free from the past and self judgement and doubt. The [...]
