    1. FREE on US today (2/29/2016)HOT COVER ALERT!I want to be his hand, hehe.Stand-alone book 1.BLURB:Sometimes love can be found in the most unlikely of places.“It gives me strength to have somebody to fight for; I can never fight for myself, but, for others, I can kill.”- Emilie AutumnI should never have jumped that fence, and I most definitely should never have kissed her.Living on the streets, I had to make some hard decisions to stay alive. I signed a contract with the devil, and because of [...]

    2. *** 3.5 Stars ***The first 18% was a little hum drum to me, but I am very glad that I stuck with it as it turned out to be one of those reads that I had a hard time putting down. I really enjoy the hero; Maliced he has some friends that call themselves; "The Butcher Boys" They are a neat group of men that grew on me right away. They all have a past of course, and I'm eager to check out each of their stories. I need to think on a review; but I just wanted to put up that I did enjoy this read, eve [...]

    3. This was ok, it just didn't do much for me. I'll admit to being guilty of buying it because of the hot cover, but the blurb also drew me in. It just wasn't anything amazing. Both the characters were pretty messed up and the way they were written it made it hard to connect to them. I was just hoping for more I guess? Not the books fault.Plus for some reason the next book is about Malice's dad who we only meet for like 5 seconds and he doesn't really endear himself to us. Instead of being about Ma [...]

    4. Jane has been going through life at her husbands beck and call, trying to survive his abuse. She's at a point in her life where she doesn't care about her life and only wants to avoid the beatings her husband dishes out whenever he deems necessary. When her husband goes after their dog, Rocco, in a fit of rage she fights back, and gets the attention of her next door neighbor. Saving Rocco, the neighbor beats up her husband and then leaves, telling Jane that he will be there when she needs help. [...]

    6. This was a new author read for me. I've not read a book by Max Henry before, but I loved the sound of it, and really wanted to read it.The start of the book is quite full on and extreme, Jane is in her mid to late 20's and married to a complete and utter waste of space, Dylan. You find out straight away that Jane is abused, and to quite an extreme standard, so if scenes of Domestic Violence hit a raw nerve or it's something you can't quite get on board with, in your books, this may shock or upse [...]

    7. I received as an ARC courtesy of the author in exchange for an honest reviewMy thoughts on this book are unclear. I seriously don't know what I think. I guess I can say that my feelings for this book came in stages, but the funny thing is that instead of those stages pointing towards something better it worked in reverse. When I first started reading I was super excited for where the story could go. The premise of a broken woman being rescued by a MAN that then becomes her rock, I loved it and fo [...]

    9. Ok, not gonna lie, the cover sold me. Had to know what this was going to be about. I still think Malice is pretty fuckin' hot, but the book itself was rather meh. This had the potential to be great, but it lacked emotion. And the emotion that was delivered seemed out of character to me. Hopefully, Devil On Your Back (book 2), will bring more connection, cause really I should have loved this. *Challenge: A book based entirely on its cover*

    10. Sweet N Sassy Book A Holics Rating: 4.7~~~~~~~~~~Michelle's ★★★★½ Review~~~~~~~~~~WOW……This was my first book by Max Henry and I was beyond emotional (in a good way).“Devil You Know” was an emotionally intense read but also one of the best books I have read. The emotion Henry puts into to this book leaves you feeling raw when reading it. Domestic abuse cannot be easy to write about (I know I would never be able to do it), but the way Henry wrote it was astonishing and heart wren [...]

    11. This book started out with a good promise of being something greate cover, the blurb all sucked me in and like I said, it started off really exciting.I can read about a woman being abused by her husband when I know things will get better (she has a protector in her next door neighbor) but at times this book became so repetitive and Jane's wishy-washy back and forth between trusting Malice and wanting to run from him got old and the slow moving train became one that I wanted to jump off.I finishe [...]

    12. The cover drew me in.The first five or six chapters absolutely captured me.Things kind of went downhill following that.I wanted to love this story, but in the end I felt kind of let down.Malice & Jane's story isn't exactly an easy one to read. It touches on some dark subjects of domestic abuse and violence. It was hard to watch Jane go through the motions day after day with her husband while it was still the best part of the book. I felt Jane during that time, I connected with her and was si [...]

    13. Ok who bought the book because of the cover? I did. Who was dissappointed? I was. I felt like the whole middle section of the book was wash, rinse, repeat. I almost didn't finish reading this book at about 50%, but, I hate not finishing and thought it would redeem itself. Well, it really didn't. I was really disgusted by the fact that our main character jumped from one abusive relationship to another (cause that's really what she did). And nothing is really resolved at the end of the book. I fin [...]

    14. 2.5-3 star rating*sigh* I did it. I fell for the hot cover which absolutely has nothing to do with the story at all. There were parts that were really good and heartbreaking--such as the early chapters where Jane is being mentally and physically abused by her husband. I think things start falling apart around when Malice finally confesses his real "job". Ummwe waited all this time to figure it out-- and let me tell ya, I was thinking the worse-- and it really wasn't all that bad. It was a let do [...]

    15. 3.5 Stars. This was a total "cover pick"! Just LOOK at that cover! The story was one that could have been really great but it lacked something. I can't pinpoint exactly what it was?? The ending was a little abrupt. I will most likely read book 2.

    16. **1.5 stars for the book, 5 stars for the cover!!!**This started off soooo strong, but ultimately I was let down with the direction it took. Jane suffered awful physical and mental cruelty at the hands of her husband, until her and her dog were finally rescued by her neighbour, Malice. I was fully invested in the story and was dying to see where it went. But then Malice showed his real self and I didn't like it one bit. Jane came from a horrible situation and into another. While Malice never hit [...]

    17. *** I RECIEVED THIS BOOK BY THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. THANK YOU TOO MAX HENREY! ***Now I was really super surprised on how much I love and enjoy this book, because I tell you I never read quite a dark book as Devil You Know. I actually went into this book blind because I have read the synopsis but the synopsis was kind of vague for me. And when I started to read the few chapters in I was hooked in the very beginning, that I couldn't put this book down I actually finished it i [...]

    18. ::: 3.5 Stars | Abusive husband | Book 1 in a series of standalones :::“Why did I leave? Why did I trade the monster I know for the animal I don’t?”~JaneBeing married for several years, Jane is used to the mental and physical abuse from her husband by now. One night when her husband goes after her dog—the only one Jane loves and that loves her back—she takes it as the final straw. Fortunately, for her and her dog, the neighbor finally chooses to step in. That night is the very night Ja [...]

    19. The start of the book is quite full on and extreme, Jane is in her mid to late 20's and married to a complete and utter waste of space, Dylan. You find out straight away that Jane is abused, and to quite an extreme standard, so if scenes of Domestic Violence hit a raw nerve or it's something you can't quite get on board with, in your books, this may shock or upset you. I did feel it was done well, and very emotional. It helped to start the story at Jane's lowest point.Malice, lives next door to [...]

    20. I really got hooked on this book when I started it it was like nothing I have read before the story line is really good however I feel like so much was left out and there was so much going on with the extended characters and the main characters it became a little hard to stay hooked I know there is more books in this series however they are not about the main characters and I don't feel like we got a whole story from them and while the story line was good I feel like a lot could have been buil [...]

    21. I have just finished experiencing 'Devil you Know' Max Henry's first book in her new series "The Butcher Boys" & let me just say I AM SPEECHLESS!! Writing this review isn't easy, my words aren't coming forth. I have been putting this series off my to read list for a while now, but thought now was the time to read it. In all honesty, I didn't want the "Banjaxed" series to be out done, because to me that series was AMAZING! I wont go into that to deeply. So what I expect from Max's story, afte [...]

    22. 1 starI wasn't impressed by this one.Jane's been in an abusive marriage for years. The perfect wife serving her husband and taking a hit when he wants it, she knows this is a bad situation and yet she says she's too weak to do anything about it. One night David, the abusive husband takes it with her dog, she doesn't have children so the dog is her life and she feels the instinct to protect it yet she can't; that's where the neighbor appear, she doesn't seem to recognize him and yet he saves the [...]

    23. Wow, I really enjoyed reading Devil You Know. When we first met Jane she is a shell of who she used to be. She is in an abusive relationship. Her husband Dylan is an abusive jerk. Dylan has worn Jane down so much that she just lives with what Dylan dishes out to her. One night things change when a mysterious neighbor saves her dog Rocco from the hands of Dylan. Her neighbor Malice is her saving grace. He is mysterious and you know their is a lot more to him. Jane takes the help he offers and fina [...]

    24. I have to admit after reading the first few pages I kind of had to force myself to continue reading this book as the content upset me, I mean everyone knows I'm a rainbows and roses type of girl, and for a book to start out that way just had me worried if I would like the book or not. I continued reading and honestly I'm glad I did because if I hadn't I wouldn't have met Malice and fell in love with the big brute, who's protective, "eff the doctor, I'm taking you to the E.R. I'd say you've got f [...]

    25. The devil doesn't always have horns Picked this up for free. Didn't think it would haunt me as much as it did. Had some stuff come up and had to take a break. Couldn't get the characters out of my head very long. I was itchy to get back. Jane is a broken woman in a bad place. Malice (yes that's his name) is a man on a path to nowhere. He finds her at her lowest point. Gets her out. Mix in some angst, a dog,and some crazy shot and your got this book. I enjoyed it. I'm invested in the series now. [...]

    26. The cover is hotbut the book was lacking. I can't stand a weak h, and Jane was weak and annoying. Then the fact that the H is a hitman, but doesn't kill her abusive ex like right off the batI mean, hell it's your 'dayjob' to kill people, but you let the woman you love be beat on by a man, and don't take care of business ASAP?? Unfortunately, I wasn't buying itd that's a damn shame- cause the cover was hot.
