    1. To Kill a Monarch is not your typical historical romance where hero meets heroine, conflict ensues, then is resolved for a tidy happily-ever-after. From page one until the end, Ms. Brousseau's skillfully woven twists and turns keep the reader guessing. I have to confess, I figured out who the phantom was early on, but that didn't take away from the intrigue or mystery. It was an nice change of pace to see the French as the 'good guys' rather than the expected British. The interesting and colorfu [...]

    2. With the release of To Kill A Monarch, author Gerri Brousseau delivers on all counts with a tale that combines the perfect balance of action, suspense and sizzling hot romance. This riveting historical mystery set in Regency England will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try and figure out just which of this stellar cast of characters is the elusive assassin called the Falcon. I’m hoping Brousseau is planning a sequel.

    3. Since I first read A Pirate's Ransom, I've been a fan of author Gerri Brousseau. I have to say with To Kill A Monarch she out did herself. If I could, I'd give this book seven stars. Phillip and Charlotte are hot both individually and as a couple. The mystery had many twists to keep you guessing. It's clever how the author intertwines history with the mystery. I really can't say much more without giving away the story. You won't be disappointed in this book. I can't wait for the next one.

    4. A great ride!!!Although dubbed an Intrigue/Romance, To kill a Monarch could easily be a thriller with its John La Carre-style intrigue and deception, and plethora of plot twists that keep the reader on edge to the very last page. Written with the same talented hand for description and characterization as Gerri Brousseau’s former works, A Pirate’s Ransom and According to Legend, the story cloaks the formality of the Victorian era with mystery.Sir Walter Tinsdale’s loathing for those beneath [...]

    5. I found To Kill a Monarch an enjoyable read. The intrigue, the twists and turns of the plot kept me on my toes throughout the book. While I thought I knew who the antagonist was, I wasn't completely sure. Ms. Brousseau threw in enough plot twists to keep me guessing who the Falcon was. Was it Tinsdale, Hamilton, Miss Winston, or Collins? There were a few historical facts that threw me for a loop, but didn't detract from the storyline. Well done.

    6. I received this an as ARC and while I usually really love books in this genre, this one just didn't do it for me. I guessed the identity of the Phantom pretty early on and it just didn't hold my interest like I was hoping.

    7. I absolutely loved this ARC, was a hard to stop reading and do the things I needed to get done around the house. Look forward to reading more by Gerri!!!
