    1. 3.5 StarsNatalie is excited about her first year of college. Her own apartment and freedom from her parents. She is pretty much a good girl, doesn't party much and gets good grades. Until she meet Sam. Sam is a few addictions that get him through his daily life. He has a tragic past he is trying to escape while trying to walk a straight line. However the pressure proves to much for him and he gives into this addictions. The concept of this book was pretty good. I was a little disappointed in Sam' [...]

    2. I fell in love with Taylor's writing when I read the first book in her Curse Books. When I opened this book I wasn't positive what would be waiting on the other side for me, but I was certain it would be a reading adventure. Taylor didn't disappoint.I love/hate the characters. Is that possible? I don't know. But I do! I hate how naive Natalie is and I hate how self-destructive Sam is. But I love them. I love that Nat will go and look for the good in everyone- the true result of not having her ow [...]

    3. I'll kick off the ratings, even though I don't count :) This book is completely, and I really do mean completely, different than my Curse Books series. It deals with tough issues like addiction and dependence. Don't expect a light romance where everyone is happy all the time and the characters fall right into love and live happily ever after because that's not what this book is. Of course there's love and romance, it couldn't be a romance novel without it! But there's much more to this story tha [...]

    4. Wow this was a hard one to read. I found myself yelling at Sam for being so week and yelling a Nat for being so naive. But she just didn't give up on Sam. Oh my god I just wanted them overcome the tragedy and make it. But it was so hard. My heart aches right now and I just don't know what to say or do. Wow to think how a person can love someone so hard and still it's not enough. While a person that just wants to be loved keeps falling down that same dark hole. I will have to play candy crush the [...]

    7. A Reliant Love by Taylor Lavati is a standalone new adult dark romance that alternates point of view between Nathalie Carter and Samuel Torrington. On the side of the light, we have Nathalie Carter, a girl who strives for independence from her overbearing parents. She leaves home for college in search of a new world—one where she can make all the mistakes every new adult faces. But as luck should have it, she gets exactly what she wants, and she’s pulled into a world she never imagined exist [...]

    8. I received this book for free through a First Reads giveaway. I rated this book 2 stars, meaning "It was OK." With as much partying and skipping classes as these college students are doing, I don't really think it is possible that a pre-vet major could get passing grades. The main character Nathalie was extremely naive and immature, and it didn't make sense that her once overbearing parents would just send her off to college with nary a visit to follow. As for Sam, he was very hard on himself f [...]

    9. How can one person love so much and in the end loose it all? Thats the question I am left with at the end of this book.

    10. WOW! Emotional, edgy, sometimes dark but true to life and I was hooked.Nathalie Carter is a freshman, moving into her own place, off campus, to finally gain some independance away from her parents clutches. She wants to experience college parties, guys and classes whilst hungover. All paid for with her own money, saved from her job growing up. Moving into her own place the day before starting college has Nathalie all sorts of stressed out. As a person who hates to be late, the next day she’s u [...]

    11. Taylor Lavati’s A Reliant Love is a novel about young adults, presumably targeted at young adults. Her writing is tight and pacy; she is fully in control of the style she has chosen; and her overall approach is ideally suited to the characters, the action and the plot. She understands how young people think and behave. Her short, snappy sentences and YA vocabulary give the whole an authentic feel. The characters are well drawn and considerable skill is expended in reproducing their thought pro [...]

    12. ** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **A Reliant Love. It’s confronting. It’s raw. It’s absolutely heart shattering. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. It’s one of the best reads that we have ever had the privilege of reading. You will meet Sam.Twenty two years old who has a tortured soul. He’s broken, believing he never deserves happiness or to feel any kind of emotion. He doesn’t deserve it. His world is dark like it should be. He needs to pay for his actions, never [...]

    13. A Reliant Love is a totally different read than my typical Happily Ever After giggly school girl romance, but it still resonated deeply in my heart causing me to willingly ride one emotional roller coaster of a ride enjoyed each and every up and down the lives in this book threw at me. Nathalie is on her own for the first time and thrilled to be away from her over protective, sugar coating, typical parents and living life for herself for the very first time. Instantly connecting with troubled, w [...]

    14. so I finished this book a few hours ago and just about now I can write my review.I got an arc of this book for an honest review. The relationship between Nat and Sam is going on a fest road and at first I didn't like it but then I understood it.Nat is so young and naïve and so freaking sweet that she instantly love, hate, hurt and her emotion are so strong.I could emphasize with her because her goal is fixing the world and sometimes I do too.I was and still shocked from the end.I didn't consider [...]

    15. I don’t read many books in this genre but when I saw that it was by Taylor Lavati I knew I had to read it. You see Taylor has become another one of my favorite authors of all time so that means I want to read everything they have ever written no matter what the genre is. The first book by Taylor I read was The Last Legacy: Season One and let me tell you I fell in love with it and her writing. It was one of the best books I have ever read! Oh but this is not a review about The Last Legacy it is [...]

    16. *ARC REVIEW FROM ABIBLIOPHOBIA ANONYMOUS BOOK REVIEWS BLOG*Nathalie is a freshman and just stepped out of her own. Living by herself, trying to to figure out who she is and what life has in store for her, and boy will she soon figure it out. " You bring life to my death."- SamSam is a person who has lost his self. He's a recovering addict, who his past is sitting on his shoulders. He has plan's, get out of this town and never look back, but when a Freshman falls at his feet, everything will fore [...]

    17. This was a pretty awesome book, there were some twists and turns and a little angst, some melt your heart moments and heartbreaking truths. Sam reminds me a little of Travis Maddox in a way. Probably the tough exterior that hides a reluctant heart. He's afraid to let love in because he deems that actions in the past means he does not deserve love or anything good in his life really. There is some Drug related content, like in the previous book I reviewed. It is not sugar coated, the cost or cons [...]

    18. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.Well, damn. From the very first page, this book had me. It held my attention, emotions and just totally gripped me. I'm really struggling with how to write this review, I just absolutely loved everything about it. It's definitely an emotional roller-coaster, I laughed so hard at the banter and the humour in the book, but at the same time it had me in tears throughout the characters troubles and struggles. Nathalie and Sam aren't your average coupl [...]

    19. This book broke me. I'm seriously in tears right now writing this review. my heart hurts, my stomach is in knots. I just WOW. This was a book of rollercoaster emotions from the start. In the beginning Nathalie is a bit naive but she knows what she wants and she will take it any way she can get it even if it only means a friendship. Sam has not had an easy life after a major accident when he was 16 hes been on the straight and narrow and working on getting his degree to get out of town and away f [...]

    20. Oh man! I don't even know where to begin with this review. Since the feelings are what's left, so overwhelming, so varied, maybe I should start there. This book will reach deep into your heart & wring the emotions out of it. There will be anger, there will be amazement, there will be smiles, & there will be tears. Oh, will there be tears. But, while this story did include love, it is a bit of a romance, it's also about temptation, emotions & the fact that we don't always understand t [...]

    21. I received a copy of this book from the author and I loved it so much that I had to write a review!Sometimes there are stories that make you feel so much that even when they hurt, you still can’t put them down. These stories suck you in and make you feel a part of them – you become the main character, the protagonist, even the narrator. You’re no longer just reading a story, you’re living an experience. And that’s when you know that you’re reading a truly amazing story. This is what h [...]

    22. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions in this review are my own. Taylor Lavati has created a great story that takes a look at what one possible scenario of new adult college life can be. Lavati has created strong characters that have interesting connections. It is great to be a reader following along and seeing those connections develop and then finding the back story that goes with them. I found Nathalie's character to be the kind of girl I wanted to be a [...]

    23. A Reliant Love by Taylor LavatiI have whiplash from this book all the goings on.What a story!I hate Sam but love him, he is one messed up man and needs a kick up his bum. I really just wanted to smack him he was so annoying, but! He was sweet. Nathalie really got on my nerves I wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up and smell the roses. Again but! I can see why she did what she did she loved Samis story's subject is hard one it's about drugs. Most people live this story every day.The two ma [...]

    24. It seems to be a constant theme this week to read rip-your-heart-out romances instead of the normal dark romances. Seems I have found another author that can do the perfect job in butchering my heart. When this happens I usually take a break and try to cool off. But I am on a schedule for these reviews, so that means I will be picking up the next book and reading it. Hopefully, the next one has some kind of HEA, because at this point I am really needing one.I have never done drugs or had any typ [...]

    25. This book is just fantastic. it is well written from 2 very different perspectiv and it gives the reader a good insight of the feeling and the story. This is one of the best love stories I have read but also on of the sadest. I did cry in the end. I also think I am one of the few who DONT hate Sam but maybe that is because I know what he feels and how hard it is. I am Sam, or at least almost. I have been there and dont that too many times and maybe that is why this book touches me the way it does [...]

    26. Let me start by saying that this is not your typical good girl tames the bad boy book. I spent most of this book with my heart in my stomach. I was taken on such a rollercoaster of emotions that I think Taylor Lavati may owe me a Tshirt. I found my self yelling at these characters, Nat for being so dang naive and Sam for just being an Idiot. If are looking for dark and gritty this book is for you! Yet I still found myself rooting for them to get their act together.Lavati writes about adiction in [...]

    27. A Reliant Love is a good read. Nathalie is beginning her life as a college student. She is finally out from her demanding parents and ready to live a little. Nathalie is a great character. Sam is just wow. Sam is as sexy mess. Sam is something i n his past haunting him. He uses drugs to keep his demons at bay. Their paths cross when they have a class together. They are attracted to each other but their is also a lot of tension. I was routeing for them. The ending was crazy. I was in disbelief at [...]

    29. This was a wonderful read. I loved how it was such a page turner. So much happens in this book, but it's enough to understand and keep the reader wanting more at the same time. I love how Taylor writes about an every day occurrence like addiction and drug use. She also mixes college in and gives you an amazing ride through real life. Follow Nathalie as she goes to college and gets pulled into some tough situations. Follow Samuel as he tries to overcome his past and leave it all behind him. But w [...]
