    1. i had this book for years before reading it. it helps answer questions about time, how our measurements of time came about and how they differ between cultures. each chapter is a different topic with different authors. everything from calendars past and present, to how the first clock was made, to how our biological clocks function, explained more through experiments on flowers than on humans for obvious practical reasons.
