    1. An alien planet, unjust society, rebellion, war and its aftermath all come into quick sharp focus in Rebecca York’s short story Hero’s Welcome. The parallels with present day wars, or those of the past, are immediate too. Wounded people, wounded land, and those special wounds of friendships torn apart take center stage in a tale of fast action, tense excitement, and genuine love. The prosthesis on the stump of a young man’s leg causes constant pain. But his memories might pain him more—no [...]

    2. A must read bookI loved this book ,its a book I recommend people to read. Even though it was short it is still worth reading

    3. Sweet and heartwarming second chance romance between a disabled war veteran and his down-on-her-luck childhood sweetheart. However the H was not celibate in the separation while the h was (she was too traumatised by a bad incident and too in love with H to move on). Thats a no-no for me so reducing the rating a bit.3.75 stars!

    4. For a short story, this sci-fi romance packed in a good plot, characters I enjoyed from the start and a little bit of creative world building about two human races trying to control the same planet.Link, an embittered permanently injured ex-soldier, was from the lower class Dorre race that overthrew the upper class race and now he has arrived to claim his war prize- a large Farlian estate. But then he finds one of the hated Farlians in residence and this one was the one to reject him as a lover [...]

    5. is an enjoyable science fiction romance from Rebecca York. While short, Ms. York creates a world that is detailed and realistic for the reader. The hero is a wounded warrior, the heroine his childhood sweetheart who's family was on the losing side of the war. After being abused, she tracks him down. Together, they learn to accept their differences and overcome their fears. While a quick read, this story is well worth the time.

    6. Sweet reconnectionSweet story of two friends reunited after the devastation of war. I loved the character dynamics, just wished there was more. Hopefully we will see more of their story in the future.

    7. Even though this is a short story it is extremely well written. You get to really know the characters and nothing seems rushed. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
