    1. There once was a family who lived in a trailer park. A mum who was an alcoholic and had several boyfriends coming and going , three daughters - one who was a slut, one - the nicest girl around and someone who would go places and the baby of the family and last but not least - a son who a jerk and the kind of guy you expect to grow up in a trailer park. The middle daughter Jayne loved her baby sister Jill and would do anything for her; often it was like Jayne was Jill's mother despite their close [...]

    2. Sometimes a book is so bad that it is good, but other times it is so bad that you really wonder why it was ever written in the first place, and that is the case with this one. Why did nobody say “stop” to the author?I was expecting something along the lines of The Lovely Bones crossed with Ghost, certainly not the train wreck it turned out to be.We have a 13 year old girl Jill who is murdered by Johnny , her sister Jayne’s boyfriend. Jill and Jayne are good sisters, they love each other an [...]

    3. Yay! This book was different. By the fourth page I was hooked and read Jayne Doe late into the night. (When you have to get up at 5:00 AM that's not a good idea. But this book was really that good.) This author clearly displays her creative abilities by making the scenes begin one way and then finish in an unexpected way. Secondly, I thought that the author did an excellent job of making the reader want the best for her characters. There are a lot of books I begin to read, find I don't care what [...]

    4. This was really different genre for me. I didn't know what to expect and ended up enjoying this a lot!I loved Jill, hated Johnny and hoped for the worse for him. Definately worth the read!

    5. I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this, but was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Good book that just sucks you right in.

    6. I was SO close to just flounce this book, and really, I started skimming after page 40. The rough plot was good, as were the first two chapters. However, everything that followed was just a hot mess. For one, there was no consistency to Jayne's "abilities", they came and went as the situation called for/the author saw fitting. Then, there was WAY too much crammed "story" crammed into these 200 pages. The topics approached in this story-- physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, murder, etc-- are h [...]

    7. I'm not sure how to express my opinion about this book. Even though I read the short synopsis of it on before I added it to my library, it still was not what I expected. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Some people might take issue with that statement and say the subject matter was violent, and it's true; and some would call it a rather sappy ending, and in a way that's true, too. But the fact is, I'm just a chick at heart (albeit an old one) and I love happy endings.I must admit the book is better [...]

    8. "Girls should never be alone in cars with boys. Bad things happen." (5) Unfortunately, young Jill had to find out the hard way. The writing style is concise and full of mystery; it's not very impressive but it compells you to want to read more. As Jill lingers between life and death, she is overwhelmed with confusion while witnessesing the pain and sadness of her loved ones. What I liked best was that even though her tale is tragic, she tells it with a dose of wry humor. It seems that her soul i [...]

    9. I loved this book! it was a freebie that I downloaded onto my kindle. I am so glad I grabbed this one.The story was frustrating and sad. As sappy as I know this sounds, I had tears in my eyes as I read the ending. I loved the characters. Our heroine Jill is intelligent, sensitive and courageous. I was so happy when she finally took control of Jayne and took care of business! It is a short read and definitely worth your time.

    10. Interesting in that the main event in the story happens in the first few pages. I loved this story and wished I spent more than 2 days reading it. It does contain violent and disturbing acts, so steer clear if that's not for you. There were a few typos that distracted my reading, but overall I would recommend the story. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

    11. As an indie author I am very proud of working with highly skilled editors and cover artists that really made the book Jayne Doe shine. I really connected with the character Jill and loved being able to write her story. She's was so enduring and remained in my head until her story was finished. This book will always have a special place in my heart.

    12. Jayne DoeI did not like this booke storylines were ok but the "ghosts" we're not.Their was no continuity in the whole story.I do not recommend this booke reason I gave it one star is because it was written and published.(That will always get a star for that)

    13. This is one of those stories I had a hard time editing because I was so emotionally involved with Jill's plight and the heartbreak she goes through. But I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Our author is a talented story writer and I wish her all the best. She's going to be an author to watch.

    14. Can't be put downIt is too well done to put down, even when I realized it was too dark for me. Not dark fantasy dark, but the world filled with overwhelming evil dark. 4.5 star since I couldnt put it down when I wanted to.

    15. I'd give Jayne Doe 2.5 stars instead of 2.Thompson weaves a tale that attempts to take you into the depths of nightmares and the pinnacles of sweet dreams. The book is written from the perspective of Jill, from the time that she was alive, to well past her death. A spirit lost in search of justice, revenge and freedom, Jill sees things after her death to which she remained oblivious during her lifetime. But that is both, a good and bad thing. The book takes you on a roller coaster ride as you foll [...]

    16. Jayne Doe is a story told from the point of view of Jill who is a 13 year old girl and, for the lack of better word, a ghost. After her death her spirit hangs back for the sole reason of protecting Jayne from her boyfriend, Johnny, the murderer of Jill.I hadn’t heard of this book or author before and it’s maybe out of my usual reading scope, but I liked the story premise. Despite it’s obvious supernatural nature (the narrator being dead and all), the story is very down to earth. Jill’s f [...]

    17. Not often does a book come along that is very emotional that I end up enjoying so much. I did not know really much of anything about this book when I downloaded it. When I got to the murder part (which is not a spoiler, since it's in the blurb,) I about fell out of my chair and thought I would stop reading. But the wrap-around story was absolutely breathtakingly awesome. I felt the emotions that Jayne went through, I saw the down-on-her luck upbringing, and yet I saw the beauty between sisters i [...]

    18. Interesting readI picked this book up when it was offered for free, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot from it. I am from the time of the dime store novel, and that's how in think of these types of books. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It took me a bit to get used to the style of writing the author used, but when I did I found I really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a book tho pass some time with that entertains you without making you think, then you will enjoy this book.

    19. This book had serious potential! I liked the idea behind it, Jaynes boyfriend kills her sister Jill because he thinks she told of the abuse she suffered at his hands Cue a story where Jill is still present and doesn't opt to stay with Stephen (Not sure who he is) but stays with Jayne and JohnnyWe learn through Jill a lot about the different characters and their lives past which as I said had potential for more, but that's untapped and maybe that's a good thing, but for me not enough. Quite a sho [...]

    20. Wonderful!I had a little trouble getting into the book but after the first few pages I was just pulled into the story. This is not your usual murder mystery. You know from the start who done it, but there is so much more to this story. I could not put it down. This book pulls at your emotions. It was gripping! And I cried too. I highly recommend this book. I loved it! So different!

    21. A real gem of a book! Jill, Jayne's sister, has been murdered by Jayne's boyfriend. However, no one suspects him. after all, he's perfect, isn't he? Jill and Jayne, their brother, sister and mother all live on the wrong side of the tracks. (in a mobile home park no less.) We soon ask ourselves, what does a purple crayon have to do with anything? Pick this one up and read it to discover how the purple crayon helps solve Jill's murder.

    22. This was a new genre for me, totally unexpected and original. I couldn't stop reading and being drawn in to the story. Emotions were tugged in multiple directions. Always at the forefront was LOVE – the literally undying selflessness of two siblings, powerful friendships and unconditional devotion held in secret desires. The author did an amazing job of taking a dark, violent topic and allowing us to see beyond with hope.

    23. The premise of this book is good - the ghost of a girl tries to save her beloved older sister from some very bad choices. An effort is made to try to add layers to the villains, and I wish that more had been done with this aspect. What is hinted at is interesting but just touched on in passing and is not enough to keep the villains from coming across mainly one-dimensional. Some fat hatred. Triggers - sexual and physical assaults.

    24. Bad. Really, really, really bad. This book is so poorly written, I'm wondering how it ever got published. The writing is just so juvenile and repetitive. There are parts that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. The characters are so cliche, it's laughable. I had absolutely no sympathy for any of them and don't know why I bothered to read the whole thing. I was hoping it would redeem itself eventually, unfortunately it never did. Don't waste your time like I did.

    25. This is one of those books with an amazing voice and steady pace. Real, raw, and well-written. The action, starting within the first few pages, is gripping, compelling, and bound to leave you breathless! A quick read you won't want to put down. Five shining stars! *This novel contains semi-adult content, & a few curse words.*

    26. This was an interesting story told from a different perspective - through the eyes of a young girl/spirit. Many times the characters in the story are very frustrating. That could add a bit to the realism if one can believe such deplorable people can exist. They can though thankfully they are rare. Happy endings all in all.

    27. This book was fairly well written, although it seemed to need to be faster paced at the beginning. This is about a girl that has a horrible run-in with her sister's boyfriend, and from there everything spirals out of control. Warning: If you don't like to read about serious issues like domestic violence and rape, this story is not for you.

    28. I had to let this one soak in! Wow, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I really wasn't expecting the crayon on the cover to symbolize what it did. It was an emotional read. I cried, wanted to scream and really wanted to beat the crap out of a few people! It was a different kind of book for me, but I liked it.

    29. Surprisingly IntenseInitially, wasn't quite certain on what road this author would take us as the overall theme hits very serious topics. This author writes with such purpose and feeling you become enmeshed with the characters. Before you know it, you realize your on a mystery thriller ride. Not over complicated and a good read.

    30. AmazingThis book is way out of character for me. I started reading it and didn't even know what it was about every different but loved the way it was wrote. Not a fan of child molesters due to having experienced it from a pedophile. If I could haunt someone like the way Jill did I wouldanks for the amazing book.
