    1. Road trips are a tried and tested formula, one which is difficult to either get completely right or completely wrong. I have read and seen so many books and movies on the subject which I have liked enough to not get bored by them. But I had yet to come across something I truly loved. I have to say the “Driving to Belair” comes close to being perfect. The book follows the formula very well. We start with a reason for the road trip which has meaning and does not seem frivolous. Each of the pers [...]

    2. The following review is my own opinion. To form your opinion please support the author and purchase your own legal copy of this book. I was given this book to read and review. The gift of this book does not influence my opinion or the rating I gave this book. When I first read the title of this book, I thought the character would be driving to Bel-Air in California. After I realized that was not part of the plot I then though maybe, the characters would be driving a Chevy Bel-Air car from the 195 [...]

    3. This novella grew on me, the farther I got into it.The main character is Dale, who has escaped the chaos of his upbringing in a motherless household in Indiana and now lives in New York with his girlfriend. But when his father dies, he travels home for the funeral. There he reunites with his older brother, who is hostile to him for abandoning them; his younger brother, who's stoned most of the time; and his former girlfriend, who clearly still carries a torch for him.Things get really interestin [...]

    4. I thoroughly enjoyed Jones' short novella Driving to BelAir. I thought it had the perfect amount of drama and I found the story extremely engaging. Arissa was probably one of my favorite characters. Although, she was sort of the background character her personality was extremely likeable and she was always there to help Dale out, even without him asking. I loved watching Dale's character evolve. He was definitely a strong leading character and it was interesting watching him handle the different [...]

    6. This book was recommended to me when I was looking for something funny, uplifting, easy and fun to read. Thanks, because that’s exactly what I got. I really enjoyed the ride to BelAir. The author did a great job developing believable and likeable characters, and has a talent for flow in writing.Dale thought he had everything he dreamed of when he moved to New York. But when the death of his dad sends him home to the Indiana farm where he grew up, he’s faced with those he left behind as well [...]

    7. For a short story this had a lot of emotion. The author depicted pefectly the emotions surrounding losing someone from all aspects. He was also able to analyze what goes into a relationships and how to bring it back from the brink of destruction. This was one of those books that makes you look at your own life, how you handled your losses and relationships and could find you lacking the understanding you should have had. At times it was hard to read because I could see my own thoughts reflected [...]

    8. I laughed and I cried. No, I really did. This novella packs a big punch. Dale ran fast and far from an abusive father and the family farm. Three years later, he’s back with a spoiled girlfriend and her little dog, too. To fulfill his father’s last wishes, he is supposed to make a trip from Indiana to Florida to scatter Dad’s ashes in the ocean. The catch is that he has to go with his brothers. One has just a little problem with marijuana, and the other is nursing a huge grudge against Dale [...]

    9. Driving to Bel-Air is a book full of wonderful characters. Real characters, people the reader can understand, sympathize with, feel anger towards and finally, accept. This book would make a great TV movie--hear that LIFETIME?Dale left behind his dysfunctional family for a better life in , where else but New York City. After the death of his father, he returns to the family he left behind. His father requested the family bring his ashes to Bel Air Dale is slowly persuaded to take the journey. Wha [...]

    10. This story moves at a good pace as we are drawn into a father's last wishes and a clash of personalities that keep the reader guessing. A frustrated narrator brings us along. At times we want to slap him, but he seems to have a heart as he reflects on his actions - even if it doesn't change them. But confined to the close quarters of a car, who can blame him? I like traveling novels, and this one doesn't disappoint. Well written.

    11. Driving to BelAir was a lively testosterone-laden made for Hallmark novella. As three brothers make their way to Florida to fulfill their father's last request to scatter his ashes in the ocean breeze, the men have to not only deal with their own internal demons but their feelings toward each other. Watching the emotional drama unfold from a man's perspective was quite refreshing in this novella. This story would be a great made-for-TV movie!

    12. This is without a doubt one of the best road trip books ever. The road trip from hell. It has emotion, action, and humor. If you think you know what crazy moment will happen next you are in for a surprise. Great characters wrapped up in a really good story. Once I sat down to read it I could not stop. This is one of my favorite books this year so far.

    13. To see my full review:bookvacations.wordpress/20I’m sorry to say that this novella just wasn’t for me. It’s very well written, but it read as a fantastically surreal story, with a series events that I just couldn’t fathom as being “real.” From the circumstances surrounding the drugs to the time the characters spend in jail, as well as all the other fantastical events within, I just didn’t see much of the story as being plausible. Which is okay. No one said the events have to be tru [...]

    14. This short book covers a lot of topics and moves nicely. A dysfunctional family together with a classic car road trip, complicated love interests, and a shaggy little hair ball all interact in unpredictable ways. At times, heart breaking. Other times side splitting, laugh out loud funny. The entire premise worked for me. There are some outrageous moments to be sure, but life can be outrageous. This story, while not disproving the old saying that truth is stranger than fiction, gives some reassur [...]
