    1. Like a lot of people, I was introduced to the work of Ralph Steadman via his association with Hunter S. Thompson. In fact, it's safe to say that it was Steadman's work that reeled me into my first encounter with the high priest of gonzo, when it appeared in lurid colour in the underappreciated Hawaii novel The Curse of Lono. What followed was years of binging on any Steadman I could find, which through the 1990s was alot and cheap. Unfortunately, in some lean years, I sold all my Steadman books [...]
